Cherubs Childcare Centre is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm from Monday to Friday throughout the year except for public holidays. We cater for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. The centre provides nappies, sunscreen, meals and is also fully air-conditioned. We have a strong emphasis on education and endeavour to produce a nurturing, engaging environment.

We encourage all parents to get to know the people who are caring for their children. By forging a solid relationship between Early Childhood Educators and Primary Caregivers we can provide a strong foundation of support to your child.

Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. We provide opportunities both structured and spontaneous for children to learn through play. Educators endeavour to identify children’s particular interests and then provide learning activities that relate to and extend these interests.

We are fortunate to have a Chinese teacher on staff at Cherubs and we offer Chinese lessons to the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten children on a daily basis.

We also offer a wide range of activities including: music, art, literacy, sensory play, outdoor play and gardening. The children are also taught everyday skills such as hand washing, using good manners and basic daily routines.

While your child is at Cherubs educators make ongoing observations to ensure your child is meeting appropriate milestones. These include:

  • Small and large motor development
  • Social skills: Learning to work cooperatively with others
  • Emotional Skills: Self-worth and self-esteem
  • Thinking and problem-solving
  • Language and literacy skills: speaking and communicating effectively

We offer a full kindergarten program with a qualified early childhood teacher who extends children in the areas of science, mathematics, information and technology and literacy. This foundation helps children to transition into their prep year.

Our Early Learning Educators are encouraged to continue their education and many are studying for higher qualifications. They all hold a current senior first aid and CPR certificate and have regular asthma and anaphylaxis training. The staff at Cherubs operate as a dynamic team who work together to make Cherubs an inviting, caring and safe environment for your children.

Cherubs has an amazing chef who provides the children with a wide range of interesting healthy foods. There is an emphasis on fresh, additive-free foods and special meals can be prepared for children who have food allergies.

A predictable routine teaches children independence and provides an understanding of the importance of time as they move through their day. The specific routines we use for your child are always flexible and on display in their room.  If you require further information please talk to your child’s Educators or the Centre Manager.
